Artificial fibers, such as rayon, wool and rayon, are mostly viscose fibers. They are made of cellulose, sodium hydroxide and carbon disulfide (CS2) as raw materials and are spun and coagulated. In the textile industry, sodium hydroxide is used for fiber treatment and dyeing, and for mercerizing cotton fibers. Cotton fabrics treated with caustic soda solution can remove wax, grease, starch and other substances covering cotton fabrics, at the same time, it can incre ase the mercerization color of the fabrics and make the dyeing more uniform.
